Fabulous movie using weird old crap in an attic.
The pithy american release title seems intended to suggest a kinship between this film and the pixar toy story series.
It might be more helpful to remember that the phrase toys in the attic is.
Toys in the attic is truly an amazing film not to be missed while it s on the big screen.
But to american audiences brought up on disney and pixar the scene might be too frightening and creepy grotesque even to be considered appropriate for younger audiences.
Behind closed doors and in the dark we all wished that our dear and most treasured toys would come to life.
Toys in the attic is a somewhat watered down version of lillian hellman s play but enough of the original emotional savagery has been retained to satisfy those who prefer their melodramatic meat.
The story is reminiscent of williams as it concerns a southern family with lots of hidden secrets.
