Unfortunately this year i am on my own and don t know what to do.
Trane furnace system lockout.
This condition is known as lock out.
When i try to start up the system it shows normal heat call on the circuit board.
Most furnace lock outs are caused by problems with igniters flame sensors and limit switches.
We also do not have an outside air source however we always keep the laundry room door open for better airflow.
Gas and oil home heating furnaces trane xl 80 system lockout.
After about 1 3 minutes the fan motor begins to run and delivers heat through the duct system.
After 2 weeks of working well the furnace started having the same lock out issues after 3 attempts to light.
About 10 seconds after the hot igniter starts to glow the gas comes.
At least now i have a way to reset the lockout.
The remedy to this problem is simple replace the air filter.
Your furnace normally will remain in the locked out state until you manually reset it.
At least the instructions with the new board are a little better than what i had with the first one.
Three flashes on the trane furnace control board means that the vent pressure is too high or too low which then activates the pressure switch and causes a lockout.
Check all incoming and outgoing vents on the furnace air system including on the furnace and clear away anything that may be blocking the air flow.
I have a trane xl 80 system.
Then reset the furnace.
I ignites about six.
It does this every year.
Since our hvac system is in our laundry room i understand that lint may cause some issues with the sensor.
The furnace will go into lockout sometime in the next 24 hours.
All furnaces need to have adequate ventilation and a dirty air filter can cause a system lockout to occur.
For example a clogged air filter may prevent an adequate supply of air from entering the system s cold air return that causes the heat exchanger limit switch to trip.
The system did the same thing tried twice to turn on but we still do not have 24v at the red and gray wires going into the top of the gas control.
