Using mineral spirits on rubber roof.
Spray on rubber roof cleaner.
Do not over apply the solvent.

Mineral spirits is petroleum based and can damage a rubber roof but man does it ever clean up the dirty lap sealant super well with hardly any effort.
Do not use mineral spirits or paint thinner for cleaning the surface prior to the tape s installation.
Sweep off any large debris.
Fill a small container with mineral spirits and then dip the painting tool up and down in the solvent.
To get rid of tree sap pour mineral spirit on a piece of rag and then rub it on the required spot.
There is a big caution when using mineral spirits on a rubber roof.
Scrub with mop or broom.
For sap residue add mineral spirits onto a soft bristle brush and rub it into the area.
I have read that good cleaning agents prior to the tape installation are isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirits also acetone but that s tougher to work with.
Doing so will create a solvent rich environment for the tape.
If you spot mold or mildew dilute bleach or vinegar not together with water and scrub.
Rinse with clean water.
Step 6 remove mold and mildew if there is mold or mildew treat with diluted bleach and scrub the region.
Use as little as possible soak it on a rag scrub off the dirt then wipe off the residue with a clean rag.
It has worked fine on various rubber brayers rollers etc but i will have to give kerosene a try.
Let dry before covering.
